    The wooden box turned out to be about 18x9x7 inches. I foamed them in place with Great Stuff Big Gap Filler. It sets up with some resilience. I took a couple of days for it to completely set up. I pulled a couple of sides off (n I had lined the box with Saran Wrap so the foam would not stick to the box) to check for voids and it seemed to fill out the box. See pictures.

    Fortunately I found a large, heavy duty cardboard box that was 4 to 6 inches bigger than the inner box. I filled the voids with 2 inch rigid foam insulation
